VBLOC Therapy: A different look at obesity and weight loss

VBLOC Therapy Weight Loss woman measuringIf you are willing to make a commitment to losing weight and participating in a medical weight management program that will provide education and advice on diet, exercise and behavioral modification—and you meet the eligibility requirements of the clinical investigation—VBLOC™ Therapy might be for you.

Qualifying for the study

In order to be eligible to participate in the EMPOWER clinical research study and receive investigational VBLOC Therapy, all patients currently enrolled met specific inclusion criteria. These criteria were carefully thought out to include those patients who are the best possible candidates for the clinical research study. These criteria include:

  • Be a male or female between the age of 18 and 65
  • Have a BMI (Body Mass Index) between 35 and 45*
  • Sign an informed consent

This is just a partial list of criteria for acceptance into the clinical research study. Only a clinical research study staff member can make that determination.

Not sure about your Body Mass Index? Use the convenient BMI calculator in the sidebar on the right. Simply enter your height and weight and then click on “Calculate BMI.”

The EMPOWER clinical research study is not currently recruiting patients. To learn more about the status of the study and to view periodic clinical updates, visit http://ir.enteromedics.com/ where you may view recent press releases from the study sponsor.

*Participants with a BMI of less than 40 must have at least one co-morbid condition, such as Type 2 diabetes mellitus (at selected sites only), hypertension, high cholesterol, obesity-related cardiomyopathy or sleep apnea syndrome.
CAUTION: Investigational device. Limited by Federal law to investigational use.
